MYSTICAL JOYRIDE

Mystical Joyride is not a single DJ but a genre-fluid, psychedelic world-pop band known for blending electronic music and live instrumentation in Ecstatic Dance communities and at music festivals. The group was formed by married couple Leah Van King and Joel Van Dijk, later joined by singer Arzeen Kamal. Their music style is described as the intersection of the spiritual and the "ratchet," focusing on contemplation, meditation, and dance.

Ecstatic Dance LA weaves together world class DJs, immersive sound journeys and free-form movement. It's a substance-free, all ages community celebration where you can simply BE yourself and experience rejuvenation & inspiration through connection, dance & music!

FREEFORM DANCE MEANS YOU CAN MOVE HOWEVER YOU PLEASE, THERE’S NO RIGHT OR WRONG WAY, THE DANCE FLOOR IS SIMPLY A SPACE FOR YOU TO EXPLORE MOVEMENT AND BE CARRIED AND MOVED BY THE MUSIC. IT’S AN OPPORTUNITY TO LISTEN DEEPER TO YOUR BODY, FLOW WITH YOUR EMOTIONS, CONNECT WITH OTHERS WITHOUT THE NEED FOR WORDS, AND GET ELEVATED OFF THE MOVEMENT. NO MATTER WHAT YOUR DANCE EXPERIENCE IS, OR HOW YOU ARE FEELING, YOU ARE WELCOME JUST AS YOU ARE. 

WHAT MUSIC IS PLAYED?

THE MUSIC PLAYED WEAVES A MIXTURE OF MUSICAL DELIGHTS AND TEMPOS TO ACTIVATE THE DANCE FLOOR AND GET US MOVING IN A WIDE RANGE OF WAYS. GENRES INCLUDE: GLOBAL BEATS & RHYTHMS, WORLD MUSIC, EDM, TRIBAL HOUSE, AFRO BEAT, CUMBIA, BASS MUSIC, REGGAETON, SWEET MELODIC DELIGHTS, ELECTRONIC & INSTRUMENTAL, SOUND HEALING, AND LOTS LOTS MORE.
